Chao Center of Purdue University Donates Multidrug-resistant-TB Medication

The GHC will receive $360,000 worth of medicines free to help fight drug-resistant TB, thanks to Purdue University and Eli Lilly and Co. The Chao Center, a Purdue-affiliated pharmaceutical manufacturing center in West Lafayette, Indiana, is providing about 1,800 bottles of Lilly's antibiotic Seromycin® (cycloserine). The generous gift will allow the GHC to bring life-saving treatment for drug-resistant TB to more people in Cambodia and Ethiopia and complements Lilly's previous donation of another antibiotic, capreomycin, a cornerstone of drug-resistant TB therapy.
